Lying Fallow

Our culture demands so much of us as producers. We demand such a rhythm of achievement. The best of us are seen to be relentless, constantly uniformly driving forward, unceasing in our progress. Yet all land must lie fallow.

This message gives us such cause to be hard on ourselves when we falter; When we allow ourselves to be caught into distraction or to pursue paths that are not on the main stream of our “should haves”. Yet all land must lie fallow.

The fields that constantly produce die. There is a season where the wild grasses and flowers must flourish. Where nutrients must return to the soil. Where chaos and distraction from purpose is vital to purpose.

All land must lie fallow.

For a time.
