Trying on Ideas

Sometimes when we hear an idea to truly understand we have to try it on. We want to see if that idea fits, if it’s comfortable with our world view. How it matches the other ideas we wear.

It feels really good to try on an idea that matches your style. You feel validated. You can look at the offerer and say They’re a cool person and I’m a cool person.

Sometimes though the idea feels wrong, it chafes and squeezes and makes all your accessories look terrible. If that idea is a good idea your whole sense of style must be completely wrong because nothing matches. So you tear the idea off and you tell the person to throw it out or better yet burn it.

Maybe you even tell the person that their whole sense of ideas is flawed! How can something so uncomfortable so incompatible with your attire be able to exist in the world?

The world is beautiful because our ideas are so diverse. We are all shapes and sizes and we need to be fit differently. It may not fit me but work beautifully on you. I don’t even need to try it on but I can enjoy it when I see you wearing it.
